Class B CDL Training
Length: 2 Weeks / 80 Hours
Class B CDL Training Content: 80 total hours of commercial truck driver training; including 40 hours classroom instruction; 10 hours of combined lab training, range training and observation with the applicable vehicle, truck or bus, including 14 hours of street driving training, 8 hours training in backing maneuvers, and 8 hours proficiency development. Graduates receive a Commercial Driver Training Certification making them eligible to obtain their Class B CDL upon successfully passing the CDL skills tests.
Class Schedules: Day and Night classes available.
Requirements: Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical, have a Class B Driver License or a Class B Instruction Permit, and pass a required Drug Screen. Must be at least 18 years old to enroll.
The Class B CDL training course is offered at New Sound Trucking School in Fife, WA. The course is designed for individuals with no or limited experience driving a Class B commercial vehicle. Students who elect to get their Passenger “P” Endorsement will attend an extra week of training and will be qualified to drive a commercial bus. Class B CDL Training prepares students for employment as a passenger bus driver or straight truck driver (tow trucks, dump trucks, delivery trucks, and utility trucks) in a local setting.
New Sound Trucking School offers Class B CDL Training, with the option to add a Passenger Endorsement, in the state of Washington. It allows you to drive a single vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVWR) of more than 26,001 pounds. Examples of a career as a professional truck driver operating a straight truck would be:

Class B CDL with Bus Training
Students at New Sound Trucking School can also add the Passenger “P” Endorsement to their license. This would consist of an additional week of training.
With a Passenger Endorsement, it allows students to also transport passengers in vehicles such as shuttle, city, motor coach or tour bus.
Our course equips students with the skills required by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to obtain a Class B CDL with a Passenger Endorsement. Upon completion of truck driver training, students will be prepared to pass their Washington Class B CDL driving exam. New Sound Trucking School trains in small, hands-on groups to ensure students are properly qualified.
Our truck driver training course prepares students for employment as a Class B Truck Drivers. NSTS also offers students one-on-one Job Placement Assistance and works closely with companies to get you hired! Please note, a Class B license does not allow you to drive a Class A vehicle, like a semi-tractor trailer. For that type of license please refer to our Class A Training.
